The Dragon Boat Festival has been a traditional custom in China for more than 20xx years. Why do Chinese people celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival? There are many legends here. The most important one is to commemorate Qu Yuan, the great patriotic poet in Chinese history.

It is said that ancient Chinese people were reluctant to give up the death of their virtuous minister Qu Yuan, so many people rowed to catch up with the rescue. They scrambled to catch up with each other and disappeared when they reached Dongting Lake. Then they rowed a dragon boat on May 5 every year to commemorate it. By rowing a dragon boat to disperse the fish in the river, so as not to eat Qu Yuan's body.

On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, our family will go to grandma's house to eat zongzi. The shapes of zongzi include triangle, quadrangle, small pagoda, round bar and so on. There are many kinds of traps in zongzi, including bean paste, moldy dried vegetable meat, celery meat and red dates. They taste very good. I can't wait to take one. First untie the rope outside, and then peel off the Zongye. Ah! It's delicious. I want to eat one and want the second. Unfortunately, my stomach can't hold it.

I like watching dragon boat races best. Dozens of sailors are holding the oars and rowing forward with coordinated and concerted efforts. The drummer's morale was high, and he drummed hard, "come on, come on!" Cheerleaders outside the stadium made thunderous shouts and cheers one after another, which made the sailors more motivated and forge ahead... The scene of dragon boat race every year is very spectacular.

Eating zongzi and racing dragon boats on the Dragon Boat Festival are not only the traditional customs of the Chinese nation, but also inherit China's traditional culture. Ah! The Dragon Boat Festival is really good. I really want to have it every day.

The Dragon Boat Festival, the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, has had a history of more than 2,000 years. It is usually in June in the Gregorian calendar.

There are many legends about the evolution of the festival, the most popular of which is in commemoration of Qu Yuan (340-278 BC). Qu Yuan was minister of the State of Chu and one of China“s earliest poets. In face of great pressure from the powerful Qin State, he advocated enriching the country and strengthening its military forces so as to fight against the Qin. However, he was opposed by aristocrats headed by Zi Lan, and later deposed and exiled by King Huai. In his exiled days, he still cared much for his country and people and composed immortal poems including Li Sao (The Lament), Tian Wen (Heavenly Questions) and Jiu Ge (Nine Songs), which ha

d far-reaching influences. In 278 BC, he heard the news that Qin troops had finally conquered Chu“s capital, so he finished his last piece Huai Sha (Embracing Sand) and plunged himself into the Miluo River, clasping his arms to a large stone. The day happened to be the 5th of the 5th month in the Chinese lunar calendar. After his death, the people of Chu crowded to the bank of the river to pay their respects to him. The fishermen sailed their boats up and down the river to look for his body. People threw into the water zongzi (pyramid-shaped glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in reed or bamboo leaves) and eggs to divert possible fish or shrimp from attacking his body. An old doctor poured a jug of reaglar wine (Chinese liquor seasoned with realgar) into the water, hoping to turn all aquatic beasts drunk. That“s why people later followed the customs such as dragon boat racing, eating zongzi and drinking realgar wine on that day.

Dragon boat racing is an indispensable part of the festival, held all over the country. As the gun is fired, people will see racers in dragon-shaped canoes pulling the oars harmoniously and hurriedly, accompanied by rapid drums, speeding toward their destination. Folk tales say the game originates from the activities of seeking Qu Yuan“s body, but experts, after painstaking and meticulous research, conclude that dragon boat racing is a semi-religious, semi-entertaining program from the Warring States Period (475-221 BC). In the following thousands of years, the game spread to Japan, Vietnam and Britain as well as China“s Chinese Taiwan and Hong Kong. Now dragon boat racing has developed into an aquatic sports item which features both Chinese tradition and modern sporting spirit. In 1980, it was listed into the state sports competition programs and has since been held every year. The award is called "Qu Yuan Cup."

Zongzi is an essential food of the Dragon Boat Festival. It is said that people ate them in the Spring and Autumn Period (770--476 BC). In early times, it was only glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in reed or other plant leaves and tied with colored thread, but now the fillings are more diversified, including jujube and bean paste, fresh meat, and ham and egg yolk. If time permits, people will soak glutinous rice, wash reed leaves and wrap up zongzi themselves. Otherwise, they will go to shops to buy whatever stuff they want. The custom of eating zongzi is now popular in North and South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asian nations.

On Dragon Boat Festival, parents also need to dress their children up with a perfume pouch. They first sew little bags with colorful silk cloth, then fill the bags with perfumes or herbal medicines, and finally string them with silk threads. The perfume pouch will be hung around the neck or tied to the front of a garment as an ornament. They are said to be able to ward off evil.

Looking forward to the stars and the moon, we finally arrived at the Dragon Boat Festival. Hehe, actually, it is not the Dragon Boat Festival. It is the week before the Dragon Boat Festival. Today, we have experienced many customs of the Dragon Boat Festival, and my favorite is making zongzi.

After we got to the designated place, we were about to start making zongzi, but the leader teacher just didn't appreciate it. He told us to watch the demonstration first and then make zongzi, so we had to go through the demonstration.

However, it was not long before this demonstration. It was just an aunt who crossed the two Zongye leaves and pulled them up to a long place, put some glutinous rice, streaky pork and egg yolks, and finally wrapped them with a rope. After reading it, the students said it was too simple!

We are going to start making zongzi. I first cross the leaves of zongzi, then fold them, and they become a "funnel". Then I put some glutinous rice, followed by some streaky pork and egg yolks. However, I accidentally dropped some glutinous rice in this step. I was so anxious that I was like an ant on a hot pot, but I still carefully added some glutinous rice and some peeled mung beans. Finally, I wrapped the leaves tightly and tied them tightly with a rope, but they became small on the top, The big shape below is like a blessing bag. When I looked at the "masterpiece" of my bag, I couldn't help laughing.

We also experienced kite flying and other customs. At the same time, I also learned many customs of the Dragon Boat Festival. I like the Dragon Boat Festival.

Duanwu Festival is a traditional Chinese festival held on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar. It is also known as the Double Fifth. It has since been celebrated, in various ways, in other parts of East Asia as well. In the West, it's commonly known as Dragon Boat Festival.

The exact origins of Duan Wu are unclear, but one traditional view holds that the festival memorializes the Chinese poet Qu Yuan of the Warring States Period. He committed suicide by drowning himself in a river because he was disgusted by the corruption of the Chu government. The local people, knowing him to be a good man, decided to throw food into the river to feed the fish so they would not eat Qu's body. They also sat on long, narrow paddle boats called dragon boats, and tried to scare the fish away by the thundering sound of drums aboard the boat and the fierce looking carved dragon head on the boat's prow(船头).

In the early years of the Chinese Republic, Duan Wu was also celebrated as "Poets' Day," due to Qu Yuan's status as China's first poet of personal renown(名声名望).

Today, people eat bamboo-wrapped steamed glutinous(粘的) rice dumplings called the food originally intended to feed the fish and race dragon boats in memory of Qu's dramatic death.

The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival of the han。 It is a veryimportant festival in our hometown,so every year the Dragon Boat Festival isvery busy。

The Dragon Boat Festival is the most indispensable, nature is zongzi, everyyear the grandmother of the Dragon Boat Festival and everyone will pack hundredsof big dumplings! There are many kinds of dumplings, such as reed leaves, bambooshoots, wild leaves and lotus leaves。 But our hometown is a lot of reeds, somost of them are wrapped in reeds。 First, grandma "rate the army" to pick reedleaves。 When picking reed leaves,a large family listens to grandmother's labortrumpet: "e on! A zongzi three leaf! Hundreds of zongzi thousands of pieces, hey,e on!" Listen to the drum of the "general","little soldier" more effort! After the reed leaves, just burn them。 But the preparation material is not sosimple, still have to go to the bazaar to buy the good red bean, the pork, thepeanut, the plate millet, the jujube and the glutinous rice, also buy the redline!

Of course, the most fun time is when you make zongzi。 When making zongzi, the man is responsible for cutting the meat into small pieces。 Women areresponsible for the washing of red beans and glutinous rice。 The child wasresponsible for washing the basin clean, and then putting the man's work in alarge basin。 The older people are in charge。 When everything is ready, thedumplings are started。 The adults are working harder, and the kids? Is playingin a side, always when the adults do not pay attention to,to steal a couple ofdates, mouth on the surface seems to be a little things didn't do,but in myheart secretly placent - because jujube is delicious!

Last year,my grandparents might have made zongzi,if they hadn't takencare of my uncle and aunt in yancheng。 I was suddenly "disgusted" with my uncle, aunt, who had a good economic condition, why not find a babysitter? Take myjoyful Dragon Boat Festival and zongzi all "take away",I be so angry! Or missthe delicious dumplings!
